Airport Council International Recognizes the Gulf Centre for Aviation Studies for its Work within the Industry

18 Jun 2014 , Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
The Gulf Centre for Aviation Studies (GCAS) scooped another remarkable accolade internationally, as it received a special milestone recognition award from the Airport Council International (ACI) during the Council’s Annual World Assembly in Seoul, South Korea. This recognition coincides with the award received by Abu Dhabi International Airport for “The Best Airport in the Middle East Region” also from ACI, which was announced earlier this month.

ACI awarded GCAS in recognition and appreciation of GCAS’s dedication and commitment to hosting and facilitating ACI training programs for over 1,000 delegates in the past 4 years. These programs covered most of ACI’s portfolio of Safety, Facilitation, Economics, Environment, Management & Technical courses.

Commenting on receiving the award, H.E. Ali Majed Al Mansoori, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Airports, said:  “The Gulf Center of Aviation Studies was established in 2009 with one main goal; to develop a pool of local talent that will ensure the development of the aviation industry and drive it strong into the future. With such responsibility as a mandate, it comes with no surprise the level of commitment GCAS has exerted in delivering world class programs not just to delegates from Abu Dhabi Airports, but to delegates from airports across the world.

“I am personally proud of how far GCAS grew and the milestones it has accomplished, and I am confident there is yet much more to come from this unique world class institution,” added Al Mansoori.

In 2012 GCAS was awarded the Gold TRAINAIR PLUS full membership from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and is the exclusive JAATO aviation training center in the Middle East region. GCAS is also a major certified center and training hub in the region to deliver courses endorsed by Airport Council International (ACI), International Aviation Transport Authority (IATA), and Kenyon International Consultancy providing specialized training on Crisis Management.
