GCAS has been awarded the world’s first TRAINAIR PLUS Gold membership from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
What is TRAINAIR PLUS?
TRAINAIR Plus is an ICAO programme that provides support for new and existing aviation training centres via technical expertise, resources and quality assurance.
In 2010, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) initiated a review of the TRAINAIR Programme. The new upgraded programme is called TRAINAIR PLUS. The TRAINAIR PLUS Programme includes a significantly revised course development procedures and requirements, a new approach to the Standarized Training Package (STP) sharing library and a self-sustaining budgetary mechanism.
The TRAINAIR PLUS Programme’s objectives:
-
Promote the implementation of an affordable competency-based approach for aviation training;
-
Streamline and facilitate the implementation and the development of the TRAINAIR methodology used in Standardized Training Package (STP) courses;
-
Coordinate and supply technical support for STP development courses;
-
Provide quality control throughout the STP development stage;
-
Operate an international STP sharing system and cooperative training network.
The TRAINAIR PLUS Programme is based on rebuilding three interrelated tools:
-
The use of standardized training material;
-
The development of an international pool of training courses;
-
The creation of an international sharing network between public and private Civil Aviation Training Centres.
TRAINAIR Plus addresses all fields of civil aviation activities from basic equipment and systems training supporting new implementation projects to graduate level courses for a variety of civil aviation professionals.
