TheGulf Centre for Aviation Studies (GCAS), the training arm of Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC), launched the first ICAO Aviation Security Crisis Management program last week, to train senior professionals in regional airports and seaports on the implementation of the latest methodologies in security regulations. The seven-day program aims at improving operations and maintaining the highest standards, in line with the international laws and regulations stated by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

In this regard, Sultan bin Yaqoob Al Zaabi, Executive Director of the Higher Committee of UAE’s civil Seaport and Airport security, stated: “Enforcing the highest levels of security on increasingly busy airports and seaports demands constant assessment and evaluation. This is especially true for the UAE as it expands into a major export, re-export and transition hub for goods and people alike. The Higher Committee of Civil Seaport and Airport Security appreciate the commitment of ADAC and GCAS in positioning the UAE as a leader in international aviation best practices through its leading security and aviation training modules.”

From his side, Dr. Othman Al Khouri, Deputy General Manager at GCAS, commented: “The ‘ICAO Aviation Security Crisis Management’ program is one of many steps being taken by GCAS/ADAC to accommodate the ongoing growth and development of Abu Dhabi’s five airports, and the entire aviation industry in the nation and region. The training provided by GCAS through this extensive course will enhance the skills of its partners, create awareness and implementation of the latest trends in airports and seaports security, and ensure the delivery of the highest levels of security in all operations across airports and seaports within the UAE.”
