22 May 2011 , Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
The Gulf Centre for Aviation Studies (GCAS), a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC), today announced plans to expand its international specialized aviation programmes, workshops and courses following the signing of a unique training and cooperation agreement with Incheon International Airport Corporation HR Academy (IIAC Academy), a global leader in aviation studies, as part of its ongoing strategy to provide the best international aviation training available in the UAE.

The announcement follows the strengthened political and commercial bilateral relations between the United Arab Emirates and South Korea. As part of the agreement both parties will share aviation knowledge resources, host exchange training courses and offer preferred access to students of both facilities to courses conducted at GCAS or IIAC Academy.

On these new partnerships, H.E. Khalifa Al Mazrouei, Chairman of ADAC, commented: “ADAC is pleased to have established relationships with Incheon International Airport Corporation HR Academy, one of the world’s most proficient aviation knowledge resource centres. This strategic partnership is meant to enrich the learning experience of our students through valuable knowledge-sharing practices with leading aviation studies institutions.”

This new agreement will enable GCAS to have close links to expertise from Incheon International Airport, the award winning international airport, which was nominated as the best airport in the world for six consecutive years as well as the top hub airport in Northeast Asia region. IIAC Academy facilities and programmes are endorsed and accredited by the Airport Council International (ACI). The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) has also recently certified IIAC as a TRAINAIR PLUS associate, ICAO’s latest training centre membership. GCAS facilities were also certified last month becoming world’s first aviation institute to receive membership in the advanced international programme.

IIAC HR Academy is renowned for offering esteemed practical courses in aviation safety and airport operations management, in addition to more specialised air traffic control and emergency handling. It also acts as a source of academic knowledge for the airport’s staff working in non-aviation roles such as marketing and finance.
